In response to the devastating impacts of Cyclone Ditwah, Don Bosco Development Centre launched the second phase of its Emergency Flood Relief Programme, focusing on supporting children whose education was disrupted by the disaster.
Recognizing the urgent need to help children return to school, Don Bosco Development Centre distributed 2,322 stationery packs to students in several disaster-affected communities. The support targeted schoolchildren who had lost essential learning materials during the floods.
The distributions were carried out through Don Bosco centres located in Kandy, Murunkan, Kilinochchi, and Arabegama, with additional support provided to children in surrounding communities including Bangadeniya, Kochchikade, Dungalpitiya, and Sandalankawa.
Through this intervention, Don Bosco Development Centre reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable children and ensuring that disasters do not interrupt their access to education and opportunities.
