The Don Bosco Inter Sports Meet was held for the first time on 7 October 2025 at the Don Bosco Provincial House grounds, Dungalpitiya, with the enthusiastic participation of over 500 schoolchildren from five neighboring schools. The event was a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship, teamwork, and youth spirit. Participating schools included Dungalpitiya Secondary School, Thalahena Maha Vidyalaya, St. Peter’s Vidyalaya (Basiyawatta), Pitipana Maha Vidyalaya, and St. Anthony’s Vidyalaya (Mankuliya).
The ceremony began at 1:00 p.m. with a colorful march past, followed by exciting track events, dance performances, karate demonstrations, and gymnastics displays organized by each participating school. Distinguished guests included Rev. Fr. Paul (Vice Provincial and Director of Don Bosco), Rev. Fr. Viraj (Executive Director, Don Bosco Development Centre), Mr. Sanath Kamburugamuwa (Zonal Education Director), Ms. S.M.I.K. Samarakoon (OIC, Dungalpitiya), Ms. Morin Prisca (Grama Niladhari, Dungalpitiya), and Mr. Nandana Senavirathna (ISA Sports, Divisional Education Office).
After an afternoon filled with energy and enthusiasm, Pitipana Maha Vidyalaya emerged as the champion, while Thalahena Maha Vidyalaya secured the runner-up position. The event concluded joyfully at 6:30 p.m. with a dazzling fireworks display and DJ music, marking a memorable and fun-filled day for all the children.
