Dominic Savio Aspirantate in Dankotuwa serves as the motherhouse where nearly all Salesians in Sri Lanka begin their spiritual and vocational journey. At present, 65 aspirants are engaged in their vocational discernment at the facility. However, the seminary’s infrastructure had not been updated to meet modern health and hygiene standards. The old kitchen and refectory were in a state of severe disrepair and required immediate renovation.
To address this concern and ensure the well-being of the aspirants, a new kitchen building was constructed, fully equipped with the necessary facilities. With the successful completion of this project, the health and hygiene conditions related to food preparation have been significantly improved, providing a safer and more supportive environment for the aspirants.
