The whole world as its environment consciousness has improved is now turning into renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, biomass, etc. in order to protect and propagate a healthy world to the future generation. As a responsible social organization, Don Bosco set a target that every Salesian institute have to be on renewable/ green energy by 2030.
The world is constantly searching for alternative energy sources, the demand for solar technicians has grown and a lot of new job opportunities in the solar field are expected to increase. Solar power in Sri Lanka too is a fast-developing industry as Sri Lanka receives a significant amount of solar radiation across all geographical regions. The solar skill training course can be given as a professional course so that the students can improve their skill-based livelihood. The students from poor backgrounds can make use of this opportunity and truly make a difference in their own lives as well as their community while protecting the environment. The first initiative of installing 100 Kv solar unit and setting up of the training center is completed and the first group of trainees will be enrolled in January 2024.
