Bosco Sevana is a home for poor, marginalized and vulnerable boys such as abused children, street children, orphans, semi-orphans, etc. where they are accommodated and guided to become responsible citizens. Boys from the coastal areas of Sri Lanka make up the majority of the boys of Bosco Sevana. Significant and prevalent issues in the region include sex tourism, drug addiction, early marriage and a high proportion of school dropouts. Children mostly live an unsupervised life as both parents fights with the sea to put food on the table. Consequently, most kids in the neighborhood become vulnerable without right support and care. Under the shelter of Don Bosco, the children are supported with education, food, medicine, counselling, and other needs in an atmosphere of family and trust.
