For the 2026 Yala season, Don Bosco Development Center, with the generous support of Deutsche Bank and Jugendhilfe Weltweit (JuWe) Switzerland, provided 282 metric tons of organic fertilizer free of charge to farmers in Neelabamma affected by the Cyclone Ditwah floods. This support gave struggling farming families a vital head starts in restoring their fields and livelihoods after the disaster.
The results speak for themselves: farmers using the organic fertilizer have harvested over 20 bushels of paddy per acre, a strong outcome that has renewed confidence across the community and improved household food security and income.
Building on this success, and with the continued partnership of Deutsche Bank and JuWe Switzerland, Don Bosco Development Center is committed to providing a total of 300 metric tons of organic fertilizer free of charge to farmers in the area for the upcoming cultivation season, supporting these communities as they rebuild and grow stronger.
