On January 27th, the inauguration and blessing of the school building, computer room, and play area were held at the Secondary School, Dungalpitiya, in a festive manner. The chief guest of the day was Mrs. Shrimathi de Silva, one of the donors for the school building at Secondary School, Dungalpitiya. In addition, Rev. Fr. Roshan Miranda (The Provincial), Rev. Fr. Viraj Chamara (Executive Director), Rev. Fr. Jesudasan Fernando (The Administrator), the Director of Zonal Education, Negombo, the Director of the Divisional Education, Negombo, Mrs. Sewani Dabare (the Principal of Secondary School, Dungalpitiya), principals of nearby government schools, teachers, students, and parents participated in the event.
The program began with a welcome by the school band, followed by the presentation of flower bouquets. After the formal welcome, Mrs. Shrimathi de Silva cut the ribbon of the new school building, and Rev. Fr. Roshan Miranda unveiled the stone plaque. This was followed by a blessing and prayer service led by Rev. Fr. Roshan Miranda. Afterward, the computer room and playground area were blessed and handed over by Rev. Fr. Jesudasan and Rev. Fr. Viraj Chamara.
Following the solemn blessing, there was a cultural programme. Mrs. Sewani Dabare, the principal of Secondary School, Dungalpitiya, expressed appreciation and gratitude to the donors for their generous and valuable contribution to the school. She also thanked Don Bosco Community and all the parents for their invaluable support. The programme was brightened with colorful singing and dancing performances, performed by the students. It was a memorable day for the students, teachers and parents of the Secondary School, Dungalpitiya.
