Child Safety
Don Bosco Development Centre has reached 25 remote villages in the Northern Province to ensure a safe and secure environment for the vulnerable children of the war-affected communities. The main purpose of this program is to ensure all rights for all the children by creating a child safety net. In order to achieve this target, three major activities are planned. They are, supporting children through providing tuition class facilities, formation of children’s parliaments and promoting child rights. Children’s clubs are formed in the each of the 25 study centres and children are encouraged in group activities. Under this program, we conducted awareness programs on Child rights for the children of each Child club and encouraged them to conduct Children parliament.
This program was a great opportunity for the children to identify their problems, find the solutions, build up their personalities and enhance their skills. Formation of Village Child Protection Committees in 25 villages and lobbying are carried out through this programme so that the children will have a better environment where they can grow into their full potential.
